They definitely will provide you with something that money can't buy.Look forward to getting more Dewalt tools in the coming days. CDINH Since I got this combo, I have added a Dewalt impact driver DC825, Dewalt impact wrench DW059 and Dewalt 18-in brad nailer D51238K to my collection set. It's worth all your pennies. This combo has exceeded my expectation in every aspect.I am just so happy to have owned this combo that is totally useful for all of my home projects. I've owned this Dewalt heavy-duty combo for 3 months so far and have used them on a daily basis. I strongly recommend everyone to buy this DEWALT combo. They all have performed at a highly efficient level.
The circular saw has cut through anything I have put in front of it from 2x4s to pressure treated lumber to landscaping timbers and 3/4" plywood. a soft-sided carrying case." Thankfully this is not the case it comes with the hard plastic case pictured on the page. It is light weight enough to handle easily and for long periods of time. I was also happy with how quickly it was delivered after I placed the order.
If it works half as well as the rest of the tools I am sure I will be happy with it the first time I have to work under the sink, in the attic, under the house or after sundown. One correction to make to the product description, it states "the four-piece combo kit comes with. I purchased this set on the recommendation of a friend. I shudder to think what conditions the tools may have been in without the hard case; UPS was not very kind to the package, thankfully nothing was damaged. I cannot comment about the hammer function as I have yet to have an occasion to use it, but if it is anything like the 14.4 volts DeWalts I have used in the past I am sure it will go through concrete like butter. The reciprocating saw has done everything I have asked it to (as long as I had the right blade). Hence my opinion is based upon what I use them for. So far I have found the battery life to be very good, with two batteries anytime that I have needed a second battery it has been fully charged, though most of the time I can do multiple projects on one battery. From tree trimming, to cutting wire shelving, to minor demolition it has worked flawlessly. The cutting is quick and smooth.
I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone I know. I should mention up front that I bought these tools to have a reliable set of tools to work with on projects around the house, so they will not see the amount of wear and tear they would if they were purchased by a contractor. The drill has plenty of power to drive screws or drill holes, including into pressure treated lumber. It is lightweight enough to work with in just about any position you might find yourself needing to make a cut.I have not yet had a chance to test out the the light included in this combo kit.
I've also chopped through some pretty thick stainless steel lag bolts with the hack saw blades. This should go without saying, but to set realistic expectations, battery-operated tools simply can't perform at the level of (or for the duration of) their corded counterparts. That being said, the kit does come with a quick charger (about 2 hours for a full charge) and a second battery, so you can tackle large jobs without long charging interruptions. Well, maybe not, but I sure would miss it. I've put aggressive blades on it, and pruned 3" branches off my maple trees. It's got plenty of power, and the clutch comes in handy when screwing into delicate items. Hold on tight -- this thing has some torque to it.Lastly, there is the flashlight. to accommodate odd-angle lighting.
It is very convenient, adequately bright, sits upright on its own base (which is the battery), and can wrap around pipes, etc. The carrying case is pretty much your average run of the mill blow-mold plastic box, but it does make a great storage container. The circular saw slices its way through boards as swiftly and eagerly as my 120V Craftsman saw -- of course it won't tackle that many without changing the battery, but you knew that already. The reciprocating saw is one of my favorites too. The first and foremost bit of advice is this: don't compare these to corded tools. The drill gets used pretty much daily, and I've never had a problem with it. The fact that it is cordless makes it irreplaceable in certain circumstances.
When I purchased this kit, I thought I would never use it. Overall, I gotta give this 5 stars; I would be mechanically helpless without this set. I bought this set a couple of years ago, and use all of the tools regularly. It also has 2 speeds for greater versatility and control. Strangely, I find that I use that thing more and more.
The tools in this kit are very good. We have used DeWalt tools for some time.
He's been showing everyone and can't wait to start using the tools for all of his projects. My husband was so thrilled with this kit-he is such a tool nut and couldn't be happier with this kit. He has other Dewalt products, but these are just outstanding.
